My passion for writing and storytelling sprouted early. I wrote and directed an award nominated short film in high school, and the following year I wrote a column for my hometown newspaper.

I spent nine years as an arts journalist contributing interviews, articles, columns and reviews to publications in Australia, the UK, and the US. For three years, I worked as a consultant on book to screen adaptations with Dialogue Scouting (UK).

Story lives in the balance of building tension then finding release. It’s a carefully woven arc for the hero of the story. This is as true in fiction and memoirs as it is in business guides. I am passionate about telling stories well, and helping other writers with character development and story structure that resonates with readers.

As a ghostwriter, I’ve helped authors write memoirs, business guides, self-help guides, and fiction including thrillers, coming-of-age tales, science fiction, and song lyrics.

As a consultant or editor, I’ve helped writers sharpen their screenplays, their novels, and longer creative non-fiction pieces. Clients have included thought leaders, executives, independent screenwriters, theatre producers, and other writers needing an outside view on their work.

My approach to ghostwriting, consulting, and editing is one that starts with collaboration. It’s integral to be able to connect with the author’s vision. To understand where the story is coming from, and why it needs to be told. This element is usually clear after the first call if a collaboration is possible. If we’re not an amazing fit, then I’m happy to recommend another ghostwriter or editor in my network.

Other creative work and collaborations include composing and performing music as J.Kenny, soundtrack composition as part of Broken Wire Studio, with abrasive Berlin rock trio Dead Sentries, and dark country ramblers Remarkable Shipwrecks.

I’ve collaborated with Finnish visual artist Eeva-Liisa Puhakka, contributing soundscapes and sound design to her installations and video work. These have been exhibited in Germany, Finland, the Netherlands, Japan, and South Korea.
